What is a Solar powered DC pump?

A normal water pump runs with 220 V AC (grid power or diesel generator) while a Solar pump is supplied directly by a solar array.
Compared to a 220 V pump the Solar pump has a higher efficiency and in the long term lower pumping costs. A Solar pump doesn't need batteries, they work permanently, from morning until sunset. So there are nearly no replacement costs.

What can I supply with a Solar pump?

The main applications are drinking water supply, pond management and irrigation. Solar Pumps are used worldwide thousands of times for these applications.
Depending on the necessary vertical lift and model they can pump up to 200 m³/day, while the needed DC voltage varies between 12 and 96 V.
Solar pumps can pump up to a vertical lift depth of 200 meters!

What are the components of a Solar pump?

A solar pump consists of
- a solar array to provide pump energy
- a pump controller mounted close to the solar array
- a deep well pump inside the borehole

All electrical components are mounted above ground.

Water pumping is a good use for solar energy, because you don't need any batteries to store the electricity: it simply pumps when the sun is shining. If you need a supply of water during the night, you just pump it into a header tank during the day.

The solar pump is manufactured by LORENTZ, the world leading manufacturer for DC powered submersible pumps. A LORENTZ pump is simple to install, maintenance-free and high reliable.

What is a Solar Tracker?

To optimise the performance we offer
Solar Trackers:
A solar tracker is a device for orienting a solar panel towards the sun. The Tracker follows the sun through the day. A Solar Tracker will maximise the solar - electric performance and - depending on your location - will gain up to 40% of pumped water per day. With the tracker you can reduce the size of the solar array by as much as 35%

Solar Pumps

* Cost-efficient:
Breakeven with diesel costs in 4 years!
* Long life expectancy
* Low maintenance
* Reliable
* Environment-friendly
* Easy to use
* Sustainable

Diesel Pumps

* Expensive fuel
* Fuel supply unreliable
* Shorter life span
* Need constant maintenance and
replacement of parts
* Maintenance often inadequate
* Problems with noise, dirt, and fumes
* Needs constant monitoring

Solar pumping is an economic and highly reliable solution where ever grid power is not availabel.
