You want to power your 18000 BTU Samsung aircon with solar electricity? Forget it, these devices need a lot more of power to start their engines than you can produce by photovoltaik at a reasonable price.

So what can you do with your "clean energy"?
You can power so called "low consumption electronic devices". This includes:
TV sets, DVD players, fridges and freezer, ceiling fans, energy saving lamps and solar pumps. See examples in "our products"!

As you want to use your power after dark, you have to store your clean energy in a battery. To prevent an overload on sunny days or while you dont stay home for a while you need a charge controller between your solar panels and your batteries. That's the same like in your car, where the battery is loaded by a charge controller as well.

A solar panel is a worldwide product! Check out in ebay, solar panels are common (not yet in Thailand!) and actually the demands overtakes the supply.

The battery is the tricky part! Why?
A car battery must provide a lot of power in a very short time - when you start the engine - while when you drive your battery is uploaded in a short period.
A car battery is a "starter battery" and will fail after 50-100 deep cycles, while it may last for thousands of starting uses with only 2-5 % of discharge.
A solar battery must be designed to be discharged up to 80 % from time to time. Therefor a car battery is the worst choice you can make.

While the solar panel (1) is your energy provider and the battery (2) is your storage unit, the charge controller (3) is the manager of your home system:
The charge controller prevents that your battery will be overcharged (and die!) and he shuts the power connection of your devices before the battery is empty. Furthermore it prevents that idle current can flow backwards from the battery to the panels. This means the charge controller is connecting your panels, your battery and your DC devices (4).

You want to supply some AC powered devices like TV set, radio, small fridge or others (6)? Then you need an inverter (5) to transform the DC power from the battery to AC power.
